About John Macaluso

John Macaluso has always admired his Real Estate Broker mom, Mary Macaluso and the pleasure she gets matching buyers and sellers to homes. In 2017, John decided to join May and form the Macaluso Real Estate Team at Compass Real Estate. He wanted to share his passion for helping people with buyers, sellers, landlords, tenants and investors across Nassau and Suffolk counties.

John takes great pride in matching people to their real estate dreams. He is a true people person and believes that his clients are his family and that it’s very important to build long term relationships in the process. Matching people and properties is his end goal. As your realtor, John is your advocate - he is a skilled negotiator and does everything possible to make the other party notice you and make your offer stand out. John is here to alleviate the stigma of a stressful home selling and / or buying process. There is no challenge too big to remedy. John’s prior work experiences prepared him for the many aspects of Real Estate. His time spent in finance as a Commodities Trader, Asset Manager and Vice President of Institutional Sales has helped him develop strong negotiating skills, market analysis knowledge and risk management experience, all of which facilitated his transition to real estate. Prior to his finance career John’s experience was in construction as a carpenter. This experience enables John to educate and prepare buyers or sellers about different aspects of home construction and repairs to be on the lookout for.

John was born and raised on Long Island, and currently resides in Bethpage along with his wife Gillian. He is an avid hockey player and fan and is proud to be on the board of directors of Anchor Program Fund Inc.

John gave us the absolute right advice for us to get the house we wanted for a price we could afford. He was available to show us the house when multiple family and friends wanted to see it before we made our final decision. John was very low key, and could discuss the problems and the potential honestly.
